Hello, Réunion island

Hi guys,

Welcome back to my blog. This summer me and my family travelled to Réunion island which is located on the east coast of south Africa. Not many people in the UK know about this island since it is very small. However it makes a great holiday spot. Since the island is below the equator, summer in Europe here is winter. Although, it doesn't feel like winter. It usually gets as hot as 30°C, sometimes more, which doesn't always happen in the UK. My cousins who live here actually caught a cold and it was boiling outside! They were talking to us with their husky voices. It was really funny.

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, It's coming up to the final week of exams and even though it's nearly over, I've still got 4 major exams left to do and I can feel the pressure beginning to build. To help deal with the stress, I like taking baths whilst reading a good book. I read many books at once but the main one that I'm currently reading is If This Is A Woman, by Sarah Helm. I've raved a lot about this already on my second blog, The Book Hub, so you should definitely go and check them out because I've made some pretty good articles on them and its a book that I would highly recommend. Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,  People tend to choose a creative profession because academic jobs are more challenging. In a way, I can understand why that would make sense to many people. If you wanted to get into medicine or become a paramedic, there's a lot you would have to do beforehand to get there. When I read Noel Fitzpatrick's book, Becoming the Supervet, in order for him to become a professor in his field, he had to go to vet school and specialise in orthopaedic surgery at university. Controlling monarchy and powerful dictatorships, is there really a difference? - Writing Wednesday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, Apart from revising for the mock exams, in history we've also been learning the first part to our new course, Power, Monarchy, and Democracy. We're currently learning about Medieval history from Aethelred the Unready, as an Anglo-Saxon king, to arrogant kings like King John, who signed the Magna Carta. At first, I thought that there was a massive comparison between what we were learning about as part of our year 10 course on Nazi Germany and now but I realise that that was simply not the case. We seem to talk a lot about monarchy being one thing and dictatorship being another when in reality, there isn't really much difference between Hitler and Stalin who were two powerful dictators, and King Richard II, who believed he was divinely chosen by God to be king.
