Perfection is non-existent

I never really understood why people aim for something that does not exist. And that something is "perfection." We idolise it but really it does not exist. So why do we work so hard for it?
If you think about it, perfection is the reason that many mental illnesses exist. It corrupts our mind because we want to achieve it. We want to achieve the impossible. To get noticed in society.
Let's look at anorexia for example. This is something that happens to a lot of people especially girls. It's all about narrowing down the weight to get to something which is for some weird reason known as "perfection." But it becomes a disease because people realise that they can't achieve that perfection because it doesn't exist. However, they still want to try and achieve the impossible so they don't actually stop.
So why can't we just be happy with ourselves and realise that perfection is not the key to society?

    You are wise beyond your years! Yes, perfectionist are not usually happy people and they cause others to become unhappy as well. No one is perfect except our Lord Jesus Christ. I have two sayings I like to use. #1 It’s good enough for who it’s for! And that is usually for me!
    #2 If it’s close - it counts! When it’s all said and done - we simply need to do the best we can and not beat ourselves up.

Is figure skating a dance style? - Dance Saturday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, I feel like I'm saying this a lot but apologies for not posting on Wednesday. There's just been a lot of sad things happening this week in general and in my personal life and finding the time to post has just not been on my radar. I will talk all about it in my next post but for now, I just wanted to post something fun for Dance Saturday. A question that has popped up a lot in my mind recently is, can ice-skating be considered as a style of dance? Personally, I think it can. I've been watching a lot of figure skaters on YouTube and Instagram recently and I've just been completely in awe of their talent. The individuals of the Holocaust: The victims and the perpetrators - Writing Wednesday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,  Recently, I got given the opportunity by my school to take part in the Lessons from Auschwitz Online Project, to further my understanding on the events that took place during the Holocaust. I was joined by over a hundred other sixth form students from across the UK and I found it quite amazing that so many young people, whether they already had knowledge on the Holocaust or not, had decided to get involved and educate themselves on such a raw and often confusing historical time period. However, whether selfishly or unselfishly, I decided to take part in this project set up by the Holocaust Educational Trust for myself. 500th blog post special: My experience of baby ballet - Dance Saturday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,  It's my 500th blog post special today and that has got to mean one thing only, I have to tell an embarrassing story! I hope you enjoy! When I was very young, about the age of 3 years old, I joined this dance class called baby ballet. I do not give credit to this event being the defining point of my dance journey, where I first learnt how to move because I very much hated going to ballet. Having taught baby ballet myself during my year 10 work experience, I know what propels mothers to send their girls to classes and it is because of the simple fact that they can place their daughters in cute leotards and tutus and tiny ballet slippers and play dress up as adults. This was the main reason why my mum put me and my older sister Alice, in these classes as well because she also wanted to dress us up all pretty and cute.
