Picking your own life

Hello everybody and welcome to another blog post,

Today, I am going to be talking about picking your own path and route. Recently, I have been to a year 9 options evening for my GCSE's at school. We got this big introduction about how we must keep up good grades to continue the school's success in final exams. However, I think that the most important piece of information was that we must pick the subjects we want and not what our best friend wants. That is what I'm going to talk about today.

For example, when I'm older, I want to become a dancer. To do this, I must take certain subjects. Now, if I were to take my friend's choices of subjects that perhaps fit their future job then I probably won't reach my goal. I like to think of this like shoes. E.g. when you're a ballerina, you have to get the right pointe shoes that fit you best in order to be the best ballerina you can be. But if you had on your friend's pointe shoes, then you probably won't dance your best because you've got someone else's pointe shoes on. Metaphorically, this is how choosing your own path and route works. You'll never succeed following someone else's route. You've got to follow your own.

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, It's coming up to the final week of exams and even though it's nearly over, I've still got 4 major exams left to do and I can feel the pressure beginning to build. Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,  People tend to choose a creative profession because academic jobs are more challenging. In a way, I can understand why that would make sense to many people. If you wanted to get into medicine or become a paramedic, there's a lot you would have to do beforehand to get there. Controlling monarchy and powerful dictatorships, is there really a difference? - Writing Wednesday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, Apart from revising for the mock exams, in history we've also been learning the first part to our new course, Power, Monarchy, and Democracy. We're currently learning about Medieval history from Aethelred the Unready, as an Anglo-Saxon king, to arrogant kings like King John, who signed the Magna Carta. At first, I thought that there was a massive comparison between what we were learning about as part of our year 10 course on Nazi Germany and now but I realise that that was simply not the case. We seem to talk a lot about monarchy being one thing and dictatorship being another when in reality, there isn't really much difference between Hitler and Stalin who were two powerful dictators, and King Richard II, who believed he was divinely chosen by God to be king.
