Dance diary 2019 (no.1) - Dance Saturday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,

We're beginning to plan out what we're doing in dance at school. Firstly, the end of year show is going to be based on A Chorus Line, the audition segment. We're hoping to do a jazz section, a street dance section, and a ballet section. We're currently beginning the jazz section with the whole class. We watched a clip from the film, A Chorus Line, and decided to work on a particular section. It was very quick and fast as it consisted of of many kicks, taps, and transitions of weight. However, it was only the beginning of the routine so we have to get used to many more fast sequences of movement in the future. Some of will also be selected to do the ballet section which is going to be a lot more technical than the others. If I get offered to do this, I will give it a go, as I think that it would be a good exercise of technique and it is also good to get in involved in something extra. I also hope to be involved in the street section of it too and I'm sure many other people will be as well because there are many amazing street dancers in my class. We're also currently doing a bit of research on this musical to enable us to understand what it is really about.

As well as this, we will be doing a dance competition at some point next year and I'm really excited for that. We will be entering as a school, on the hope that we may win something. We're also going to have the dancers from Manchester, come along to do a few sessions with us. If you don't know already me and my school went to Manchester, early this year, to dance alongside some of the students there at a school. It was tiring but also a lot of fun so this time, they're coming to see us. 

 Next Thursday, we're also going to have a contemporary workshop, with a professional dancer who is going to come in and teach us. We're doing a contemporary piece for the end of year show called Rossazz, as well as A Chorus Line, which involves chairs and a lot of people. That is why we're doing the workshop, to broaden our horizons.

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,  Although I would say that my experience with dance in year 13 was a little disappointing because we had very few practical classes, one of the things that I did kind of enjoy doing were the workshops. In these workshops, the school would bring outside choreographers and teachers to come teach master classes to us in person. Initially these workshops were just for students who worked really hard and put in the most effort at school. I thought that I would be one of these students but it turns out I was actually never picked for these workshops. This just exposes the way things worked at Impington! However, I guess because this system really didn't work, the workshops were eventually made available to everyone who did dance and performing arts at the school. Week 1 update - My Portugal Holiday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, After a swift flight to Portugal, we arrived at Porto Airport. We got our luggage, went through security, and got a shuttle to the nearby car hire place. The shuttle, or should I say mini bus, was 1 minute long. Good thing too, because I could not find my seat belt and neither could my mum. It seemed like it was ripped out of its place. However, the driver was really nice and I was luckily because it was not  too rough on the road.  When we arrived at the car hire place, we were greeted by a nice worker, who got down my parents details and driving licences and even wrote his name in Japanese. We mentioned where we were from and how my mum was French and how my dad was half Japanese, half English. That's why he showed us that he could write his name in Japanese. He even recognised that my dad's name, Hideaki, meant the mountains and the sun in Japanese. I know, its quite cringey, but also really cool that he managed to r

Oti and Kelvin's epic Samba and Will and Janette's insane quickstep on week 1- Dance Saturday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, Last Saturday, I watched the first episode of Strictly Come Dancing, 2019! I can't believe how amazing each couple was. For week 1, it was definitely like watching an episode at week 8.  In Kelvin and Oti's samba, Kelvin really maintained great technique, and I think that was what made him have the highest score of the day. For a male to be good at samba they must keep up with the beat of the music because in the samba, you really have to be able to move your hips. I think that was what he was good at doing and it was clear to see because he kept up with Oti. He also had excellent musicality and rhythm during his samba basic and walks. What I would correct is his hand placement, like Craig said because when he was exchanging arms with Oti, his hands were slightly splayed. Blogmas day 4- decorating the Christmas tree-what a nightmare!⛄🌲

Hello Jujubears and welcome back to another blogmas post, Today I will be talking about what a nightmare it was putting up the tree. Before we get on to the blog post, make sure you are following me to get up to date with my life! I am sure the Jujubear fam will accept you! Now let's get on to the blog post.👉 Our house has basically been a building site. We had no idea that getting an extension could be this stressful. Though we got our floor installed so we could finally get a tree! This time a big tree which we could not get in the past. It was such a nightmare though because the stand for the tree wouldn't work so it took us a whopping two hours to actually get the tree standing. However, we finally managed to and we listened to Michael Bublé  and other Christmas artist whilst decorating the tree.
