Strictly the Professionals - Dance Saturday
Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,
Strictly starts today and I just wanted to talk about some of the amazing professional dancers that made the show possible. A week ago, Strictly the Professionals aired on the BBC and it talked about how each dancer got to where they are today. They showed video clips from when they were young competition dancers. Janette sent a video clip of her dancing, to a stage school, to pay for her lessons in dance. AJ began dancing at his parent's ballroom dance school. Karen went to a contemporary dance school in New York, before specialising in ballroom and Latin. Kevin and Joanne Clifton, started dancing at their parent's ballroom dance school, as well. What I found really interesting was that when Kevin auditioned for Strictly, his partner at the time Karen, got in but Kevin did not. He said it was due to his Gothic look at the time. Haha😂. However, he got other small jobs on Strictly, before eventually becoming a pro-dancer. For example, he was an invisible dancer on one of the trailers for Strictly, a few years ago. Despite this, he later was a professional dancer and was never forgotten for his amazing choreography with the celebrities. Other dancers, like Aljaz, got in quite easily but were not able to get into the right Harry Potter house in a special pro-dancer routine. Everyone else was either in Slytherin or Gryffindor. However, Aljaz, got into Hufflepuff and it became a big inside joke amongst the dancers.😂😂. However, despite all the struggles, every dancer really enjoyed their time on Strictly and were thankful to be part of something that was special amongst many.

So sad we don't get Strictly here in the U.S. (although I know about it). Our version of the show, Dancing with the Stars, began last week and I am so excited for this season. Wish I knew more about our professionals.
ReplyDeleteI love Dancing with the Stars too! It's just as good as Strictly.
