Somme and Arras trip photos

I went on a year 9 history trip to the Somme and Arras. I visited loads of WW1 memorials and as a group we discussed wether or not they were the right way to remember them by. I also visited trenches. Some were left as they were and some were made today as they would be 100 years ago. We discussed which one was the best way to preserve the history of the trenches.  I also visited a mine. I forgot to take photos but we visited a quarry and a mine 20 metres underground that was used for a secret attack against the Germans. This was during the battle of Arras. All of these places however were so overwhelming to see but places I would definitely recommend going to.





























How should we remember the soldiers that died in WW1?

New years resolutions for 2019

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, Today I'm going to be making some new year resolutions for 2019. This time last year I made a few new years resolutions for 2018 and although I succeeded at completing some of them, many of them I did not complete. That's okay, but in order to ensure that my chances of completing them are higher this year, I need to be determined and keep looking back on my goals. Hello everybody and welcome to another blog post, Today, I will be talking about a somewhat interesting day in a life of me. Blogmas day 2- Setting up the tree!

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, Yesterday was the first of December meaning we were going to get our Christmas tree. Our first stop was Tescos however because my sister wanted to get some chocolates for her friend's birthday. While we were there, we also bought some meat and cheese because my mum wanted to make a lasagna for dinner. We also bought a can of peas to give to the food bank. It's sad that we even have to give anything to the food bank but in our area I know that there are quite a few people who are struggling to get their basic needs so its nice to give something back. I was also glad to see that a lot of other people were giving to the food bank. After shopping, we got into the car to go to our nearest rectory  farm where they sell real Christmas trees.  When we arrived, we pulled down the back seat to allow for room for the tree.
