How to stay motivated - Dance Saturday
Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,
Today, I'm going to be giving you tips on how to stay motivated as a dancer. I'm going through not an extremely stressful time but a stressful time in the sense that I've got a dance show next Friday and I've not been in for 3 days of the commercial routine so I've missed a minute of the routine and I've only got one clean up rehearsal tomorrow at 9:30am so I have no idea how I'm going to do. This is why it's important to stay motivated so that we do not lose our focus so I decided to make this post today. Enjoy!💜❤
Enjoy!💜❤
- The first tip I have to stay motivated is to do it for yourself. You at the end of the day, have to be your biggest motivation. You cannot be trying to impress your teacher or your peers and you cannot do it because you'll get an award or something at the end of class. At the end of the day, when you step into the studio, you're trying to be the best version of yourself so it's important that you don't stay motivated by other things because they can end up being a distraction to your dancing.
- The second tip for motivation as a dancer that I would give is to surround yourself with people who are better than you. If you are constantly surrounded by people who are better than you, it challenges you to be as good as them and it keeps you on your toes. If you're constantly surrounded by people on the same level as you, it doesn't challenge you to be better so it's also important to as well as being motivated by yourself, to also take inspiration from others.
- See every rejection as an opportunity to try again. If you take every rejection to heart and take it personally, you stop trying and you end up never moving forward in your dance career. Just remember, that if you don't please one person, there's millions of other dancers out there who will be willing to take you on. Don't let rejection stop you from moving forward.
- Lastly, don't obsess over your vision. At the end of the day, if you're just thinking about where you want be as a dancer and not focusing on actually doing anything to achieve it, you'll end up going nowhere. Your actions speak louder than your words so start doing more to achieve your goals as a dancer instead of obsessing over them and thinking about the too much because then, you'll end up not doing anything to actually achieve them.
Hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful, I know I did and I think that we all just need a few motivation tips just in General, every now and again.
