What i'm hoping to do for my own dance routine in year 11- Dance Saturday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,

 As part of the final BTEC dance course, year 11s are required to come up with their own group routines in order to be examined on choreographic skills in the show in May. Next year, I will be in year 11 and having looked at some of the self-choreographed group routines in the shows by previous year 11s, I have a rough idea of what I want to do. I believe that the style of dance that we're going to be choreographing our routines to is contemporary. The problem with this style of dance, now that that I've seen previous shows, is that it all looks the same. I think that in order to really score high marks, I need to do something that no one has ever really seen before. Depending on what the stimulus is for our dances, I need to create an original story around that so that I can choreograph something unique and different. I'm probably going to come up with some new movements as well that no one has seen before in a contemporary routine. I'm hoping to hire out a studio where I can practice with the group I'm in and really get everything nailed and looking good. As well as the group routines, my dance teacher may allow some people to do duets and solos so if that is the case, I'm definitely going to audition for the solo because that's really my thing. Other than that, we have to continue doing jazz and finish off our two courses on it before we can start doing our own thing but I'm really excited for when that time arises.

What I got in my dance medal test- Dance Saturday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, Despite having done the wrong dance on my exam, as many of you I'm sure are aware of, I still managed to get awarded honours without any notes of improvement in waltz and samba. The maximum grade for honours is 85% and I got awarded 92% all round which is way over that percentage. For street, I also did really well, I got honours again and I got 93% for my first dance and 94% for my second dance. These grades are not as high as my previous ones but this time, they brought in an examiner who's quite harsh with her marking so that's why. Anyway, although I had a slight panic that I did the wrong dance, I still got a very good grade. The key lesson to learn from this is to believe that you can do it. Netflix series review: L'histoire d'Arsène Lupin - Lifestyle Monday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,  Recently, me, my mum, and my sister found this really good French series on Netflix called Lupin, which is based on the French 19th century novella, Arsène Lupin.  We decided to watch Lupin because we thought it would be a good way to practise our French. If you don't already know, part of my family is French. My mum was born on a French colony called Réunion which is a small island located off the coast of South Africa, in between Madagascar and Mauritius. My mum later moved to the South of France where she lived most of her life but she met my dad whilst she was studying at university in Liverpool. Like my older sister Alice, I was born in Paris which means that my passport is not British but in fact French. I moved to England when I was probably about a year old because my dad wanted to return home and work in this country instead.
