Being a model and role model are two separate things

Hello Jujubears and welcome to another blog post, Today I am going to be talking about the differences between models and role models and why we might get the two mixed up. I was recently reading Anne Frank's diary and she brought up how her parents wanted her to be the model child. At first, I thought it made sense but on second glance, I realised that it didn't. For example, we consider models to be figures in photos and magazines like Vogue. All models are doing is promoting something that they don't own. So by saying someone is or has to be a model child, it's implementing that they have to represent something that they don't own ; something that isn't them. To me, this makes sense and answers a lot of difficult questions. When we look at magazines, we look at something someone else has and try to fit it with our own body type. My thoughts and views on anxiety

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, What does it mean to challenge yourself. Well, it means stepping outside of your comfort zone and pushing beyond your limits. There have been some times in the past where I have been challenged. In year six, I went on my first ever residential trip and I was so nervous. It was the first time that I have ever been away from home. But....! I did it. I was so happy that I did it. And now, going on residential trips is just second nature to me. That is because I challenged myself. So what happened to the people who now suffer from anxiety? I have had friends in the past that have told me that they have anxiety and to be honest, I know it's because they were simply not brave enough to challenge themselves in the past. It's not because they have been through anything particularly traumatizing. I live in a small village and there is absolutely nothing to be anxious about. What's it like working as a support worker? - My Trip to Tanzania (Post 6) - Dance Saturday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, Today, I'm going to be talking about my experiences so far with working as a support worker for Project 21.  Before I get onto this post, if you haven't heard about the story so far regarding the Tanzania project, then I would encourage you to click on the My Trip To Tanzania label at the bottom of this post to get up to speed. However, if you haven't already heard, I will also just briefly explain. Basically, I'm planning on going to Tanzania in the summer of 2022 in order to complete the enrichment part of my IB course and to support vital elephant conservation work that is currently going on in the area so in order to do that, I need to raise money. Part of my plan to raise money was to work as support worker at Project 21, a musical theatre group that supports people with Down's Syndrome.
