What I got in my dance medal test- Dance Saturday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,

 Despite having done the wrong dance on my exam, as many of you I'm sure are aware of, I still managed to get awarded honours without any notes of improvement in waltz and samba. The maximum grade for honours is 85% and I got awarded 92% all round which is way over that percentage. For street, I also did really well, I got honours again and I got 93% for my first dance and 94% for my second dance. These grades are not as high as my previous ones but this time, they brought in an examiner who's quite harsh with her marking so that's why. Anyway, although I had a slight panic that I did the wrong dance, I still got a very good grade. The key lesson to learn from this is to believe that you can do it. That is something I don't do often. Lol.

    I like to dance although I don't do it very often because my husband does NOT like to dance. It is so relaxing and creative to me. Congratulations on your great marks!

The IB dance mock exam - Dance Saturday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,  On the last Friday before the half term holiday, I'm going to be doing an IB dance mock exam. This mock exam will consist of me coming up with my own choreography that I will perform as a solo piece in front of my teacher. It's not going to be as formal of an examination as the rest of the exams that I'm going to be sitting but it's still a pretty big deal since I am still going to get awarded a grade at the end of it.  My day on Friday will begin at 9:00am and for the first part of the day, I will be working on my solo and coming up with the choreography. I think for the rest of the day we will be spending some time catching up on some theory and working on writing up the rest of our dance investigation as part of our coursework. Making the most of the sunny weather - Lifestyle Monday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,  This week was probably the hottest week it's been so far this year. We've been blessed with really nice weather for the most part of lockdown, which meant that me and my family could go on nice walks frequently and make the most of all the extra free time we had. However, on Wednesday and Thursday especially, the temperatures reached around 30°C, which could only mean that we had to bring the pool out again. By pool, I mean the classic British paddling pool that is probably just under a metre high but is great if you want to cool down in the summer. The weather was definitely abnormal and probably due to climate change but in this sweltering heat, we were thankful for the cold water that took me and my sister a while to get into but was really refreshing afterwards. Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,  People tend to choose a creative profession because academic jobs are more challenging. In a way, I can understand why that would make sense to many people. If you wanted to get into medicine or become a paramedic, there's a lot you would have to do beforehand to get there. When I read Noel Fitzpatrick's book, Becoming the Supervet, in order for him to become a professor in his field, he had to go to vet school and specialise in orthopaedic surgery at university. That was a huge undertaking that would stress anyone out because it's so competitive and you've only got one chance to succeed after years and years of study. Hello everybody and welcome to another blog post, Today, I am going to be talking about picking your own path and route. Recently, I have been to a year 9 options evening for my GCSE's at school. We got this big introduction about how we must keep up good grades to continue the school's success in final exams. However, I think that the most important piece of information was that we must pick the subjects we want and not what our best friend wants. That is what I'm going to talk about today. For example, when I'm older, I want to become a dancer. To do this, I must take certain subjects. Now, if I were to take my friend's choices of subjects that perhaps fit their future job then I probably won't reach my goal. I like to think of this like shoes. E.g. when you're a ballerina, you have to get the right pointe shoes that fit you best in order to be the best ballerina you can be.
