Going for a bike ride - Lifestyle Monday

Image
Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,  As I'm sure many of you already know, me and my family have been going on many walks around the back of our house, our village, and quite recently because of the slight alleviation of lockdown, to another area in Cambridge as well. I've really liked going on walks as I've found that it was a great way to take in some fresh air and go somewhere that was not just my house. If I've been doing quite a lot of homeschooling during the day and I hadn't really had the time to do something more fun, I've always enjoyed going on walks and just sharing my thoughts with nature. Despite it being simple, it has been a big stress reliever. I've been walking a lot ever since I first heard the news about the lockdown and I've found that it makes me feel like I have some sort of freedom. However, at the beginning of last week, I found another hobby that I've been really enjoying as well. Yes, I actually pulled ou...

Going out for the first time in 2 months - Lifestyle Monday

Image
Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, A week ago on Sunday, it was announced that the lockdown in the UK would at least be somewhat lifted. I was quite happy about that because although I seemed to be surviving well just walking by the field that's behind our house, the effects of cabin fever seemed to be catching up on me as well. On Tuesday, me, my sister, and my mum actually took a proper walk around our village. Although I've been doing some walks in the fields, I haven't actually taken a casual stroll on the streets of my village in the 2 months of lockdown because my parents advised that it was best to stay clear of as many people as possible. So when I actually took the time to walk around my village, even that seemed to bring back some sense of freedom. It was still weird for me to walk past my school knowing that had all this not happened, I would probably be in the peak of exam season. For some odd reason, I'm still taking in how much has chan...

Photography tips that I learnt from Stella Pereira - Writing Wednesday

Image
Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, On Sunday, one of my mum's friends came over to do a photography workshop with me and my sister. Her name is Stella Pereira and she is an amazing photographer. Her photos have a very particular style. Although they're incredibly high quality, they are very dark and moody. This was the first thing that Stella taught us, lighting can affect an entire picture. As I was experimenting with a couple of photos, Stella blocked out the light coming from our kitchen window with a cheese cloth or added a black background. I was surprised that it never actually changed the quality of the photo, it just added a "moodier" element to it as Stella explained. She also taught us what angle we should use for different types of cameras. For example, with our phones, we could take flat-lays which were taken from above or we could take photos of something tall in a vertical picture facing the object we're taking a photo of straig...

Hi guys, Welcome back to my blog. Today I am going to be talking about my adventure to the La Latina bus restaurant. Before we get on this blog post, I would really like to shout out the Last Latina instagram account. They post loads of pictures of their food creations. You can find them here- https://www.instagram.com/lalatinabustaurante/  .  As always don't forget to subscribe to this blog by going to the top of this page and clicking on the SUBSCRIBE button so that you are notified by e-mail when I upload. Let's get onto the blog post. La Latina restaurant is located in Newmarket road, Cambridge. Me and my sister were really excited to go because our mum said that the Southern-American food was simply to die for. It was a bit of a struggle to find the bus but we managed and it's unique aesthetics stood out from the crowd. Here is what the bus looked like: The inside of the bus was absolutely gorgeous. On the first floor there was the kitchen where they prep...
