Plastic, plastic, plastic

Hello everybody and welcome to another blog post,

I am absolutely mortified! Recently, I got a block soap for Christmas. I thought that the packaging was just cardboard because it was placed in a cardboard little box. But when I opened it up, I saw that it also came with plastic wrap! And then we wonder why there is so much plastic floating in our oceans. Here is what it looked like:


It's not the first time that I've seen something pointlessly wrapped in plastic. Every time I go food shopping with my mum, I see things like apples and bananas wrapped in plastic. We don't need it. However, when I go to places like France, the fruit and vegetables are placed in boxes for you to pick from. Why can't it be like that here in the UK?

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, Recently, my mum told me to take a look a Mel Robbins's work because she talks a lot about human psychology. If you don't know her story, Mel Robbins was a well-known TV show host on American channels like CNN and has now become a motivational influencer on the internet. She faced a lot of financial difficulty trying to pursue her career in the TV and entertainment industry and this caused her marriage to become unstable and eventually she became severely depressed. This was to the point when she even struggled to get out of bed in the morning. After releasing her book, the 5 Second Rule which motivated her to get up out of bed every morning, Mel Robbins now inspires other people with mental health issues. What I'm hoping to talk about in my English speaking exam- Writing Wednesday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, After Easter, my English teacher told the class that we will be doing a speaking exam on whatever topic we wish to talk about. I don't know the exact details of the exam but I do know that we have to talk about a certain subject for 4 minutes. I will probably find out more about it when I return to school next Tuesday. Although, I already have an idea of what I'm going to talk about. I thought it would be interesting to talk about my heritage since I've got an interesting racial background. My sister talked about this for her speaking exam in year 10 and she did very well in it so I thought it would be a good idea to talk about it also. Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, Victorian Britain was, as many would say, unfair,cruel and harsh. It is a fact that women were discriminated in the sense that they did not have a voice or the power to act on problems in society. Victorian Britain and other countries too, were very patriarchal. This is particularly apparent during the life of Charlotte Bronte.  On the 21st of April 1816 was the birth of Charlotte Bronte.  In her early life, Charlotte dedicated her life to teach children and her family. She returned to Haworth where her sister's opened a school but failed to get students. Therefore, she and her sister's turned to writing.  She and her sister's hid their true identities. Charlotte concealed her name under the pseudonym Currer Bell in a bid to sell her books.  They believed that concealing their names under a male identity would get their books to sell.
