Plastic, plastic, plastic

Hello everybody and welcome to another blog post,

I am absolutely mortified! Recently, I got a block soap for Christmas. I thought that the packaging was just cardboard because it was placed in a cardboard little box. But when I opened it up, I saw that it also came with plastic wrap! And then we wonder why there is so much plastic floating in our oceans. Here is what it looked like:


It's not the first time that I've seen something pointlessly wrapped in plastic. Every time I go food shopping with my mum, I see things like apples and bananas wrapped in plastic. We don't need it. However, when I go to places like France, the fruit and vegetables are placed in boxes for you to pick from. Why can't it be like that here in the UK?

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,  Recently I watched a great video by Ant Middleton on preventing chronic burnout. If you are unaware of who Ant Middleton is, he is a TV show host who has a background in the Special Forces. He presented the Channel 4 TV show, SAS Who Dares Wins, where he got celebrities and ordinary individuals to take part in an SAS taster course to see who was resilient enough to survive the challenge. Ant Middleton has gotten a lot of negative press recently and his show was recently cancelled by Channel 4 after he allegedly made inappropriate comments to some of the female members on the show. The Jasmin Vardimon Company at the Sadlers Wells Theatre - Dance Saturday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, As many of you already know, recently I joined the Cambridge Youth Dance Senior Company and I have now been taking classes with the group every Tuesday evenings since I joined in September. So far, everything is going well. We are set to perform at the Energise Dance Festival on the 4th of February next year so we have all worked together to come up with choreography for a 4 minute piece that we are creating for the show.  However, during the October half term, we also went to see the production Alice, performed by the professional dancers from the Jasmin Vardimon Company at the Sadlers Wells Theatre in London. The performance was spectacular and much of our inspiration for our own 4 minute routine, came from what we saw at the Sadlers Wells Theatre. Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, It's difficult to know where to begin with this post. In life, there are always going to be challenges and most of the time, they're not going to be necessarily easy to deal with. You'll want to achieve a lot in life, but you'll always find a counteracting force, that is always not on your side. You'll try and view life as a big empty canvas, where you can paint your vision of the future, but that vision can be blocked by a clouding of uncertainty because that counteracting force is always going to be there. When you stumble on a bad day, you try and make it a good day, but the very thought of that day beginning as bad can lead you into thinking that the whole day is going to be bad. How my dance exams went and what I'm doing in work experience next week - Dance Saturday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, Last Sunday, I had a dance exam for my ballroom and street routines. I did street first and ballroom second. For my street, I danced to 1999 by CharliXCX and Don't Call Me Up by Mabel. There were perhaps a couple sections that could have been neater but on the whole, I think that it went well. I think that I did well in ballroom too. I did forget, I think once, the lock step in the quick step but I didn't stop and I managed to complete the routine. I didn't forget anything in the jive and I think I performed the routines in both styles well on the whole. In comparison to last time, when I did samba instead of paso, I would say that it went a lot better this time!😂 Starting Monday, I'm also beginning my work experience at my old dance studio.
