Waltz,waltz,waltz!-Dance diary- Dance Saturday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,

 27/9/18 Ballroom
We began dance class by doing our box steps up and down the studio. Before, I really struggled to take a large step backwards and forwards but now I think I'm getting better at that and my teacher said I was too! We also added on a new bit to the waltz which consisted of a check forward, a step out to the side, and a type of whisk and chasse. I am sorry I know I do not know my waltz terms yet but don't come for me okay!✋Lol. We practiced that with music and then moved onto another new step. This was basically a side chasse. Again, I do not know my waltz terms yet so don't come for me!✋ We tried that with music and then moved on to a completely different style, the samba. We basically repeated what we did before but added a side step in before returning to our samba basic. Then we just finished on that. Hopefully next lesson, we will be doing paso doblé because we haven't done a lot on that but who knows?

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, Despite having done the wrong dance on my exam, as many of you I'm sure are aware of, I still managed to get awarded honours without any notes of improvement in waltz and samba. The maximum grade for honours is 85% and I got awarded 92% all round which is way over that percentage. For street, I also did really well, I got honours again and I got 93% for my first dance and 94% for my second dance. These grades are not as high as my previous ones but this time, they brought in an examiner who's quite harsh with her marking so that's why. Anyway, although I had a slight panic that I did the wrong dance, I still got a very good grade. The key lesson to learn from this is to believe that you can do it. Netflix series review: L'histoire d'Arsène Lupin - Lifestyle Monday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,  Recently, me, my mum, and my sister found this really good French series on Netflix called Lupin, which is based on the French 19th century novella, Arsène Lupin.  We decided to watch Lupin because we thought it would be a good way to practise our French. If you don't already know, part of my family is French. My mum was born on a French colony called Réunion which is a small island located off the coast of South Africa, in between Madagascar and Mauritius. My mum later moved to the South of France where she lived most of her life but she met my dad whilst she was studying at university in Liverpool. Like my older sister Alice, I was born in Paris which means that my passport is not British but in fact French. I moved to England when I was probably about a year old because my dad wanted to return home and work in this country instead.
