How to stand out at an audition- Dance Saturday

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,

 I've personally never been to an audition but after doing 7/8 years of dance, I know what is needed to stand out and succeed at one. One of the very first things I would recommend doing is to wear something bold. It doesn't have to be something too quirky but if you're doing an audition in hip-hop for example, you may want to wear a bright coloured top or a cool hat. So long as it doesn't affect your dancing! I would also 100% recommend standing at the front. The people who are judging you aren't going to go through all the effort to try and spot your talent at the back. Stand at the front and be confident. Before the audition, make sure you practice in class and in your own time so that you know exactly what you're doing in time for the audition. If you're nervous before you start, I would also recommend running on the spot. This would burn off any extra adrenaline and get you warm for your audition routine.

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, I don't know if people outside of Britain have something like this in schools but here we have a thing called conference day which is a day where you learn something unconventional and would probably not do in normal everyday lessons. For this conference day, the topic was life skills.  In this one part of the day, we learnt about mental health and depression. Why this had anything to do with life skills, I do not know. It was going pretty smoothly at first. They were talking about what effects mental health problems had on people and those around them and why it's important to speak about these sorts of things. Then as the teacher flicked over to the next slide, things turned sour pretty quickly. This slide was labelled "Things you cannot say incase it offends someone with a mental health problem." Blogmas day 3- Not my best performance :(

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, Today I woke up really happy and excited because I had my dance exam. I thought I was ready; I set up my bag,put on my street uniform, and did my hair. I then got in the car and drove to the studio with my dad. When I arrived, they checked what I was doing first and it was ballroom. However, I was dressed and ready in my street uniform. Luckily, I had arrived 30 minutes early which was what was required so I got my dress and my shoes out of my bag and went to the toilets to change. I then returned to the studio to get my number pinned to my dress. Suddenly, everyone was saying that I needed to hurry up because I was dancing next. However, my first dance was at 11:50 and it was only 11:30. However, I was told to run to the down stairs studio so I did. There I met up with my dance teacher and she was telling me what I was going to do. She said "you're doing waltz and samba" and I stupidly replied "yes" out

Being a model and role model are two separate things

Hello Jujubears and welcome to another blog post, Today I am going to be talking about the differences between models and role models and why we might get the two mixed up. I was recently reading Anne Frank's diary and she brought up how her parents wanted her to be the model child. At first, I thought it made sense but on second glance, I realised that it didn't. For example, we consider models to be figures in photos and magazines like Vogue. All models are doing is promoting something that they don't own. So by saying someone is or has to be a model child, it's implementing that they have to represent something that they don't own ; something that isn't them. To me, this makes sense and answers a lot of difficult questions. When we look at magazines, we look at something someone else has and try to fit it with our own body type. We are all the product of our mistakes

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, We are all the product of our mistakes. In the past, I have made many mistakes. Like hitting my sister, throwing my sister's board game pieces on the floor, and drawing in my sister's books. But some of my mistakes were also accidental like getting a question wrong in class.  However, I for one can confidently say that I have been able to learn from my mistakes. But over the years, I have noticed that some people never learn. The product that came out of my mistakes was a better person. But the product out of some people's mistakes are worse people. I have seen countless photos on social media of people drinking underage, wearing inappropriate clothes, and even swearing.  Those are big mistakes that will affect them in the future.
